Furukawa Electric Delivers World's
Fastest Commercial VPN System using Cavium Networks NITROX™
II Security Processor
FITELnet-F8000 IPsec Router achieves IPsec VPN Performance of
2 Gbps for minimum sized packets
Santa Clara, CA, June 28, 2004 --
Cavium Networks announced today that The Furukawa Electric Co.
Ltd. is using the NITROX II Security Macro Processor to deliver
the world's fastest performing VPN system to date. The FITELnet-F8000
IPsec Router has realized the highest IPsec performance of 2
Gbps for minimum sized packets while supporting 3,000 tunnels.
Furthermore, FITELnet-F8000 offers advanced and flexible features
for the communication carrier including IPv6 and virtual-router
functions. These FITELnet-F8000 features enable carriers to
respond to emerging customer requirements while improving the
efficiency of the service. Currently, this product is available
to customers in the Japanese market only.
Furukawa selected Cavium Networks NITROX II security processor
for its fastest performance in the security processor market.
Additionally, it was very easy to integrate the NITROX II security
processor into Furukawa's architecture to enable their aggressive
time-to-market needs. This allowed Furukawa to deliver on the
stringent requirements of Japanese service provider customers.
